I've joined an international mail art swap through iHanna's blog and was excited to get my mailing addresses yesterday. 5 international and 5 from the US, what fun!
My cards are made from recycled granola bar boxes. I find those and cereal boxes make great mail art, and it saves space in my paper recycling, which always seems to be full, now matter how much paper I repurpose.

I covered the shiny side with black gesso. Once dry I covered with red acrylic, being careful to leave some black showing. Next I added gold, turquoise and orange paint. I love the way these turned out and hope the recipients will be happy with them.
