It's New Year's Eve and I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
I have have made a few New Year ATCs for our local trade, which takes place on January 2. If you happen to be in the Victoria area (even just for a visit), this monthly event is open to all.
The first one was made using an old stamp I have from Posh Impressions. I stamped it in platinum Brilliance ink and then went over all of it with glitter glue (Martha Stewart brand - love it!). My hand ached after making ten of these!
The next three were made with old bingo cards, gesso, paint and then stamped with my fave flower stamp from Rubber Stampede and the number stamps from Limited Edition. A touch of glitter glue made them extra festive (I may have a glitter glue addiction).
Last but not least, our ARTchix Studio Group is having a lottery, and the theme is New Year's Resolutions. Although I have some goals for the New Year I don't normally make "resolutions" per se, but this is my card. In case it's not obvious, it is about making more time for creativity. I have so enjoyed my at-home vacation over the holidays that I am going to do my best to make more time to create during the rest of the year when I'm not on vacation. Stay tuned. :)
Images from ARTchix Studio, stamp from Tim Holtz. Did you know ARTchix now has many of their images available as a downloadable PDF? I find this so handy (and economical) for those images that I like to use over and over again like this lovely lady. I print them on my inkjet onto matte photo quality paper.
Finally, I will leave you with a quote I heard the other day.
An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.
Bill Vaughn
So are you an optimist, or a pessimist this New Year? I think I'm a bit of both. There are definitely a few things I'd like to leave behind in 2010, but I'm looking forward to keeping the positive things and hopefully starting some new ones.
All the best for 2011 and beyond!
