Birthday card

Birthday season is in full swing for me.  A friend's birthday is coming up at the end of this month, and I made this card for her.  Since she is a fellow cat lover, I used one of ARTchix Studio's cat Eco embellishments (made from recycled materials).  I painted it with black gesso and added whiskers with a white gel pen, and a golden glitter eye.  I really like this line from ARTchix as it takes paint so well and doesn't warp.  Other repurposed materials are old game pieces and an old dictionary page. 

 

 

 

ARTchix Studio Swap - Eco embellishments

ARTchix Studio is having another fun swap.  Unfortunately the deadline for this one has come and gone, but you can find out about their next swap here.

This swap was to decorate some of their new eco embellishments.  I chose the large flowers. 

I painted them with gesso, then Quinacridone Gold acrylic.  I stamped with a marble stamp and then a flower stamp in the middle which I then scribbled over with a white gel pen.  I added some alphabet letters, pink German scrap flowers, and a circular image - all from ARTchix Studio to finish off each piece. 

I can hardly wait to see the goodies that come back to me, and I hope the recipients like these.  Add one of these to a square card and you have an instant greeting card for any occasion.

New ATCs

I made these fun ATCs for my local trade last weekend.  We didn't have many players this time, so I had quite a few left over.  If you're in Victoria on the first Sunday of any month, please do stop by!  You can find all of the details on the ATC Victoria blog.

The backgrounds are all spray ink and drops of alcohol ink.  My "flowers" were stenciled with black or white gesso and then doodled over with black marker or white gel pen. 

More Colourful Chunky Book Pages

This month, the ARTchix Yahoo Group's chunky book colours are green and purple - what a fun combo! 

I sprayed the pages with Lettuce Adirondack ink.  I stamped a handwriting stamp over top with Olive Stayz-on ink and them stamped some purple polka dots with Violet Lumiere paint.  Lastly I added a fun image and purple German scrap (both from ARTchix Studio).

For the back of my page I used the same ink.  The leaf is a paper napkin, and the purple butterfly is from ARTchix Studio.
