Third and final postcard for submission to the Richmond Art Gallery's Mail Art Show -

The map is from an old atlas, and is part of a series of economic maps showing the distribution of various resources. 

Mail Art Show at Richmond Art Gallery

There is an upcoming mail art show at the Richmond Art Gallery.  The (loose) theme is "Economy".  The format is 5" square. I'm sending in these two cards, and may still do a third. The cards must be 2D, so in the first one I decided to take "rubbings" of pennies instead of adding real pennies as I might usually.

Both cards use a substrate of an old Bingo card (of course), acrylics, inks and various ephemera. 

The mail art will be displayed in the gallery from November - January and then swapped back to the artists.  If you are interested in participating, please read the PDF for specific instructions and exclusions before you start. 

Postcard, Polka Dots & Strawberries

Yesterday I went on a fun road trip with my friend Carole.  She spied this really cool fabric tape at one of the thrift stores we visited, but then decided she didn't want it so I scooped it up.  You can see it on the bottom of this postcard I made this evening:

Today I bought some beautiful end-of-season strawberries - what a treat!  Sometimes this late there is a lot of waste, but not on these ones.  Here they are in this brilliant green collander my mum gave me awhile back:

Then I put them in this great new polka dot bowl I picked up on my trip with Carole.  I was a bit disappointed that the photo was a bit blurry, but I couldn't retake it because I already ate them!
