We are about 1/6 through the Index Card a Day challenge. 61 days goes very quickly! More commonly known as ICAD, this annual challenge was started by Tammy Garcia years ago. It’s my fifth year. You can find out all the details on Tammy’s blog, Daisy Yellow if you want to know all about the challenge.
#4 started out with some leftover paint from another project. I hate to waste paint so when I have a little left over I smudge it onto a blank index card or journal page. It makes a great jumping off point - especially if I’ve worked all day and want to do something quick.
#5 also started with leftover paint. Then I stenciled over it, didn’t like it and covered it all up and started again. :)
This (#6) was another one that started from leftovers.
#7 started the same way and I was also practicing my fineliner on it (the red squiggles).
I think # 8 is the only one of two that didn’t start out from leftover paint this week. Tammy publishes daily prompts (which I hardly ever pay attention to), and last week one of them was ‘zebra’. I saw so many cool interpretations of the theme online I couldn’t resist making a black and white focused card.
#9 was also made from scratch - just using a lot of neutral toned papers and adding a pinch of pink.
Today’s card, #10 was back to the leftover paint tactic.
And because all of my ICADs feature at least one heart, I am also counting them towards my 365 Somethings project at # 156 - 164.
Thanks so much for your visit today - I really appreciate it!
