This week I’ve added quite a few hearts to my 365 Somethings.
First off I continued the series of bingo cards with a different colour scheme. I’m not quite a thrilled with the green as I was with the pinks, but they are nice and bold, and if you are one of those people who don’t think you should give a man or boy something pink (which I do NOT believe), then they would make a nice valentine, birthday, or ‘just because’ card for a guy. Starting where we left off last week this is 274 - 279
Then, I had to make a decision. I’d decided to enter a piece or two into a local art show. The show is later this month but you need to submit in advance and be accepted (juried) to get in. The theme of the show is symbols and language. I had planned to enter the old record album book I’ve been working on because it has both symbols (hearts) and language (lyrics), but there is no way it would be done by the deadline (today). So I could skip it, or do something else. I had these two canvases already prepped with a few collage elements and a coat of this buttery coloured acrylic that I mixed up, so I thought I would see how the work I’ve been doing with inks would translate onto canvas. I was thrilled with the results, and if they don’t get into the show that’s ok because there will be a non-juried show coming up in December I’ll put them into.
This is 280
Next I made a special card for someone who gave me a very nice compliment on Instagram - she said my cards reminded her of family members who loved to play bingo and always made her smile. I was so touched. (282)
Then we have another bingo card “just because” (mostly just because I don’t want to waste any ink - you can tell which card (above) was the original and which one accepted the ink ‘overflow’ (this one) because it is much paler. (283)
Then I made a journal page featuring an ARTchix Studio image. This is 284, and we’ll leave it at that for the week.
Thanks so much for joining me on my journey to 365 Somethings!
