Inspired by Tammy Garcia's art journal prompt "Starburst", I decided to do another spread in my Sketchbook Project journal - I am determined this will be done before the deadline this year!
Started with some random papers and tapes on the blank page (this has been done for weeks). I covered everything with a thin layer of gesso and then sketched in the doll for basic size/shape/placement. I drew my basic "starburst" shape with a basic black office-type pen and then drew a lot of the "doodles" within each ray, along with the words, before I started adding colours. The colours are Derwent Inktense blocks and Neocolor II crayons (both water soluable media). When complete I went back and darkented the rays and letters with a black felt-tipped pen and added accents with various gel pens. I am tempted to keep adding detail but I'm afraid I might "overdo it" like I did with a couple of my index cards. I think I'll call it "done".
Last but not least I added the doll image (ARTchix Studio). I think she looks like her mind is definitely blown by all that colour!
Disturbingly FUN. I'd say her mind was blown, and I loved how you used the bingo card (no surprise) in the background. And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed following how you made it.

I love your extra take on the starburst-tangent - putting the doll's head in the centre is such fun! Hug from Holland, Marit
