I wasn't going to do it. Absolutely not. I don't have time to sign up for anything new after the Summer of Color and Index Card a Day challenges, but darn that Tammy Garcia and her fun challenges - I could not resist! So I've decided to do participate in the Daily Paper Prompts challenge. Here are my first two entries. The great thing about these challenges is they can be used to get other projects done.
I've been wanting to do something for an upcoming Mail Art show for awhile now. The theme is Rainbow/Equality and that was the theme for day one of the Daily Paper Prompts challenge so I made a postcard (on a bingo card of course). Prepped with gesso, I added colours with Derwent Intense blocks. Added words with white gel pen.
Day 2 - and since it's 2am I feel I can post day 2 - the theme is Windows.
I had already prepted a page in my Sketchbook Project journal by cutting out a hole in two pages that I glued together and overlaying a window envelope and a transparency as well as gluing some other papers down on the facing page so I was already half way done. I prepped both pages with gesso and then added some olour - again with the Inktense blocks. I doodled/wrote with a white gel pen and then added my lady (who I had already marked off a spot for on the page.. What a great kick off to my Sketchbook Project this year. I feel like this could be the first year I have participated that I won't be rushing at the end to finish, but we'll see!
Congratulations on joining yet another challenge, and starting early on your Sketchbook project. I'm in awe, and really like the pieces you have created. I especially like that window and it gives me an idea for some of my scrappy journal pages. Thanks for the inspiration.
