Well, this week's theme at Sunday Postcard Art is literally my cuppa tea - tea time! I love tea! I don't care much for fancy herbal brews, but nice plain black or green tea (especially jasmine) - no milk, no sugar is my drink of choice most days (and nights).
So - how to pay homage to this wonderful beverage? Well...I don't have any tea themed stamps, and I couldn't be bothered searching out magazine images, so I thought I'd try to sketch something out and paint it. As many of you know, most of my efforts at painting are quite abstract, or else rely heavily on collaged images, so when I actually sketch out and paint something recognizable I feel quite proud of it (even if it is perhaps somewhat of a fluke).
It's a bit wonky, but I like it. I think the Mad Hatter would approve. A friend is encouraging me to try another with a plate of macarons! My sketch of them so far looks like a plate of sugar cubes, but stay tuned - there may be more tea sets to come.
I just love the cheery red and white here- what a joyful way to serve tea!

I think anyone who sees this painting would approve. I adore the different patterns you chose, but all in that bright red and white. Even the turquoise background is wonderful. I absolutely adore the entire piece.
