Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow has thought up a new challenge now that ICAD is over. It's called Catchphrase and it's all about using words in your art. You can find the details and the index of prompts Here. Now I'm not one for prompts usually, but I decided that I use words so much in my work that just creating 26 things with at least one word on each one over two months wasn't much of a challenge, so I decided to jump in and try my hand at the prompts, but not in order. I'm using a 9"x12" journal from my local art supply store. I love it - the paper stands up to anything, and it lays open flat. And it was cheap!
The first prompt I chose was The Sea - I live by the sea, and it's one of the things I missed while I was in London (the Thames is great, but it's not the same!). I chose a really simple background, and used some of the lyrics from the song 'The Sea" by Corinne Bailey Rae - haunting lyrics and melody.
The next prompt I chose was 'The Beatles". I chose to illustrate their classic song 'All You Need is Love".
The next prompt I chose was 'Colourful". Self-explanatory! The house was made from the inside of the envelope of one of my birthday cards, and the cute little heart flowers were off the front of the envelope.
The fourth prompt I chose was 'Postage' - one of my favourite things! I loved the lion on this stamp from South Africa that came in a grab bag of used stamps I purchased in the UK, and thought it was appropriate for my birthday month of August. The doodled lion is my own design.
That's it for now. I'm going to try to get through all 26 prompts by the end of September. I've got a good start, and have ideas for some of the others. Let me know if you're playing along!
Wow! My favorite is the Love Love Love page. I love it! :-)

Wow, this is fantastic. I think you have a fantastic start, and I like that you chose songs for some of the prompts, too. Of course, all I can think of now is "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight." It's a beautiful lion, too. Of course, I was also drawn to the colorful house, too. Great way to recycle.
Sorry I need time to create a few things of my own, so I won't be joining this challenge, but I look forward to seeing all your prompts. It's definitely a great start!
