A while ago I shared a few pages of a challenge I am doing (or trying to do) put on by Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow called Catchphrase. It has optional prompts, which I decided I would use because if it's just putting words on a picture, well that's not much of a challenge for me since I use words a lot in my work.
There are 26 prompts. I'm up to 8 now. I think the challenge 'officially' ends at the end of August, but I wrote the prompts all down so I'll probably (try to) finish them at my leisure. I'm in the middle of moving house and let's just say 'nightmare'. The problem is I have too much stuff. I'm moving into my late mother's house who also had too much stuff, and well, you get the idea. If I don't pare it down I'll be featured on Hoarders, Buried Alive in a couple of years.
Prompt 5 (for me - I'm doing them out of order...gasp!) is Space Age. I found the most delightful picture in my local paper. It was this young lady in a paper(?) space helmet. She was dressed in street clothes. The ad was for a play at the local Fringe. I gave her a space suit and some lyrics from Frank Sinatra. I put her in 'space' (again, are they stars, or is it snowing?). This could be my favourite page ever.
I chose "Three Words" as my next prompt to work on (number 6).
For my seventh page, I chose the prompt 'Codes or Symbols". I chose the peace sign, as well as my take on Picasso's dove. Added lyrics from John Lennon.
Last for today is number 8. Because of all my sorting I have corralled most of my washi tape into one box, so I chose the prompt 'Washi Tape' for this one. I will transcribe the text following the photo for anyone interested - it's pretty funny (says me).
It says: 'Here is a sample of my washi tape collection. There are 26 in total - not these aren't 'it'. Do you think I have a PROBLEM? :). I went through a phase where I wanted to buy all the washi tape I could find - it wasn't that easy to find back then. Then my mother started buying it for me too. By then it was Everywhere. So things (maybe) got a little out of hand - we've all been there, right? I still love it! Washi xo'
True story. :)
Oh Cindy, these are all fantastic. Your little girl in the space suit is fabulous. Yes, it's a favorite of mine, too, but so is the dove of peace. Of course, the washi tape had me laughing because I didn't have any until I won some one time, then you sent some to me at Christmas. Seems it DOES snowball. I really like this because it's a fun read. However, the girl in the space suit and the peace dove are my favorites. Keep them coming as you sort and make room for what is important in your life.

gosh these pages are all so cool Cindy!! For some reason I am especially drawn to the washi tape page with all the writing-it has a very artsy/graffiti vibe. Good luck with the moving. I know hubby and I will be in big trouble coming a moving time if we don't keep purging-even if it's a little at a time.
